The Australian Montessori Society Inc (AMS) was established in 1974 and has since been providing education and care courses in Vocational and Educational Training (VET).
The Australian Montessori Society Inc is a fully Recognised Training Organisation (RTO Code 0295), accredited through the Training Accreditation Council (TAC) of Western Australia which is part of the Australian National Training Authorities (ANTA). The AMS is further recognised by academic bodies such as the national universities and all courses are Ausstudy approved.
The Australian Montessori Society Inc operates under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards. The purpose of AQTF is to provide a framework under which Registered Training Organisations commit to standards that ensure a high standard of training and education. Further, to have consistency in the quality of training provided as well as enabling the student to achieve the defined outcomes, which again allows the student to enter the industry as a qualified and competent individual.

The AMS provides Education and Care courses at Certificate and Diploma level in Australia and Asia via face-to-face, flexible learning, distance and on-the-job training.
The courses provide a deep and passionate insight of the Montessori Philosophy and curriculum, in depth knowledge of the apparatus, materials and activities (in all curriculum areas) and competency based teaching & care practices.
Through the Montessori Stepping Stone™ Program the Australian Montessori Society Inc provides accreditation standards for schools and care centres. The accreditation standard has at its heart the Montessori educational philosophy and method (educational program), while further focussing on the faculty and administration, facility and apparatus, materials and activities. Embedded into the program are the key processes from the ISO Quality management standards (9001:2000) and the ASNZS 4360:2004 for Risk Management.
