Latest The Australian Montessori Society Inc has started a training and accreditation venture with the former London Montessori Centre in Malaysia. The London Montessori Centre Malaysia, which is now operating as Sri Montessori Early Learning Sdn Bhd, was a pioneer in establishing Montessori centres in Malaysia in 1984. There are currently 7 centres in operation with the head o0ffice in Kuala Lumpur.

January 6, 2007 marks the centennial celebration of the first "Children's House" opened in Rome by Maria Montessori.
In 1907, Maria Montessori, then a young Italian physician, responded to a call for assistance. In a poor district of Rome , San Lorenzo, she established something revolutionary for young children - the first Casa dei Bambini - the first Children’s House.
